7 Tips to Get More Bookings
You can create the most gorgeous parties in the world, but if nobody knows your business exists…you’re going to be waiting a very long time for that next booking. The good news? Promoting your party business doesn’t have to mean dancing on TikTok every day or spending a fortune on ads. You just need to make sure the right people see what you do, understand why they need you and know exactly how to book you.
1. Show people what you can do
The parties you create are your best marketing tool for promoting your party business. Time to show it off! Share photos and videos of your setups, before-and-afters, behind-the-scenes moments and those little details you’re ridiculously proud of. Don’t just post the finished party either. People love seeing how the magic comes together. Even if you think: “I’ve posted this setup a million times,” then your audience probably hasn’t seen it a million times.
2. Get serious about Instagram (and promote yourself!)
Instagram can be an absolute goldmine for party businesses. However, your account needs to do more than look pretty. Use Reels to show transformations, Stories to give people a peek behind the scenes and posts to share inspiration, tips and your latest work. Most importantly, make it obvious what you actually offer and who you offer it to. Pretty pictures are great. Pretty pictures that make someone think, “I NEED this for my daughter’s birthday” are even better.
3. Make it easy to find you
Even if you’re the best party planner in your area, your new clients should be able to find you. Use keywords that your ideal clients are actually searching for in your Instagram bio, website, captions and Google Business profile. Think about phrases like “party planner in [your city]” or “luxury kids party styling.” You’re not trying to win an award for the most creative wording. You’re trying to get found.
4. Let your happy clients do the talking
People trust people. Ask your clients for reviews, testimonials and permission to share photos from their events. For example: a simple message saying, “Would you mind leaving us a quick review?”Even better? Ask clients to tag your business when they share their party online. One beautiful party can put your work in front of dozens of potential new clients.
5. Build relationships with other businesses
You don’t have to promote your business alone. Connect with photographers, venues, bakers, balloon artists, florists, entertainers and other event professionals. Refer clients to each other, collaborate on styled shoots or create a package together. Your network can become one of your biggest sources of bookings.
6. Give people a reason to choose you
Why should someone book you? It could be because you create completely stress-free parties for busy parents. Maybe you specialise in luxury children’s parties. Or your setups are completely personalised. Figure out what makes you different and talk about it everywhere. If you sound exactly like everyone else, clients will compare you on price. And trust me, that is not the game you want to be playing.
7. Keep promoting
This is probably the least exciting tip, but it might be the most important. You’re not going to post one Reel on Tuesday and wake up Wednesday with 17 new bookings. Marketing takes consistency. Keep sharing your work. Talk about your services. Connect with potential clients. Ask for reviews and keep putting your business in front of people. Because the person who sees your content today might not need a party planner until six months from now. And when that day comes, you want your business to be the first one they remember.
Promoting your party business
The truth is: promoting your party business isn’t about being everywhere, doing everything and spending all your money on marketing. It’s about being visible in the right places, showing people what makes you different and consistently reminding your ideal clients that you’re there.
